Faring Well

Faring Well by Jessie May

After a year of leaving my old website Faring Well up while I embarked on this new project of Jessie May, it was finally time to take it down. Ah, so bittersweet! I had three and a half years of cultivating an incredible community (you) that was based around everyday stories and plant based recipes in that space. I learned a lot about cooking, using a DSLR for the first time, figuring out what the heck Lightroom was and why everything I shot was cyan (Scott will laugh at this one).

We had just moved to Denver from southern California, and Scott told me I should pursue my passion of sharing my cooking with others. It was a pretty surreal moment. After years of working in retail and serving at restaurants, here I was being handed this opportunity to try something I really loved. I will forever owe all of this to him—you are a huge gift, Scott Snyder.

After feeling distant from what I was creating on Faring Well, falling into traps of self comparison, the blogging hustle, and personally un-relatable recipe creation, I decided to take an extended break. When I came back, it was time to start Jessie May.

I write about this in my last post on FW, which is in the document, so I will save my words here. Today’s post is to let my readers who will miss the FW recipes know that I have saved every post as a PDF for you. The link is below!

Unfortunately my options (and skills) around saving out a 200+ page website in it’s original form lead to a document that isn’t really the best. I know you might be frustrated when trying to find a specific recipe in here. I’m so sorry there wasn’t a better way known to me for doing this as of now. But if I discover one (I’ll keep digging) I will be sure to update the file and notify you via my mailing list and on Instagram.

Reading back through all of these pages felt like opening up a time capsule—time is so trippy.

Overflowing with love, adoration, and gratitude for you.

I saved all of the comments from every post in here too, as they are by far my favorite part. :)

(This is a really large file, I’d only recommend downloading over a strong wifi connection onto your computer—let me know if you have any issues!)

x Jessie
