Favorite Smoothie Blends

Favorite Smoothie Blends by Jessie May

I have finally documented all of our favorite smoothie/shake blends! I’ve mentioned some of these on Instagram over the past few years, but if feels really nice to have them consolidated in a single place. I rotate between these during the week in the summer, and enjoy a few here and there during the cooler months even still. There is something extra convenient and delicious about a well constructed smoothie—especially if it is a deep dark chocolate ;).

What you will find here is how we genuinely build our smoothies/shakes, meaning they are based on affordable whole foods. If you are into the fancy superfood powders, feel free to add them here as you please. There is something calming to me about how simply these are constructed, and they are especially refreshing this way to us.

My recommendation for getting the best consistency is starting out with less water than you think you need. Then using a tamper to get the smoothie/shake moving, adding additional liquid at this time if you feel it is necessary—and in small amounts.

You will notice that I use cocoa powder in our chocolate shakes instead of raw cacao. This is because I think it tastes so much better— and I know that if I’m craving a chocolate shake, I need to be satiated by it deeply. But if you enjoy the raw version, please use it here. Food to me is about enjoyment, so enjoy it in your way wholeheartedly.
