Stanley, Idaho

There are few places that take my breath away as much as Stanley did in the Sawtooth Mountains. The hours of windy roads making us all a little nauseous were entirely worth it for the few days of mountain bliss. A small town, little cabins, winding rivers, hot springs, crystal clear lakes, and some of the best breakfast food you’ll have in your life.

If you’ve followed our move we had to make last September (leaving our home; time in Boise; time in McCall) this is the third spot we landed in Idaho before making the trip back to California to move into our new rental home. It was the third week of September and although we were looking forward to having a permanent home again, this was a place that was very hard for us all to leave.

Gosh how I loved staring at those jagged peaks — we already cannot wait to return! Idahoans prefer most of their mountain treasures to be kept quiet. So all I will say is if you have the adventurous spirit in you to make the trek here, go into town and ask the nice folks there for all the tips on where to go. They will share it with you gladly and you will feel most welcome.

We were all three at the most peace we’ve ever been together during our time in the Sawtooths. Very, very grateful for our time in Idaho last September. This couldn’t have been a better send-off, thank you Stanley!

Day 4

This day wasn’t captured, but was our last morning spent in our cabin followed by bagels and coffee from a local spot before making the windy roadtrip back to Boise for a few days while we prepared to fly home to California. What a trip, thank you, Stanley.
